Bank Of Ghana Sued For Contempt In A Suit Filed By Nana Obiri Boahen

The Bank Of Ghana and Berock Ventures Limited in Accra have jointly been sued for contempt for defying a court order to stop the development of a disputed family land at Kwadwofourbehu in Sunyani

In a suit filed at the Sunyani High Court by the Lawyer of the plaintiff, Nana Obiri Boahen and Associates of ‘Enso Nyame Ye’ Chambers in Sunyani the plaintiffs are praying the High Court to restrain the Bank of Ghana, who is the first defendant from further carrying out construction or developing a vacant and undeveloped land which forms part of the disputed land.

According to the writ, the Kumasi Circuit Court, on July 28, 2020 issued an order of perpetual injunction restraining the defendants, his agents, servants, etc from dealing and interfering with the land in dispute.

But according to exhibits provided by the plaintiffs, the defendants have defied the court order interlocutory injunction the first defendant, Bank of Ghana, her agent Berock Ventures Limited are still “defying logic, commonsense, fairness respect of law and order etc. and are still going on with the constructional works” on the disputed land.
