Construction of artificial turf at Awusco School (Kaneshie) in the Greater Accra region is 80% completed.
During an inspection of the project last week, Dakoa Newman said the turf was the beginning of the creation of a united and inclusive society, where sports would be used as a tool to unite the people.
The project which began some eight months ago is now at the completion stage as the artificial carpet has been laid left with some minor works.
The project facilitated by Ghana Gas company Limited due to the lobbying skills of Member of Parliament for Okaikwei South Constituency , Hon Dakoa Newman when completed will boast of panelmesh fencing, washrooms, floodlights, goal posts, reserve stands and changing rooms aside the pitch.
Upon completion, it would be one of the modern sports facilities in the country with an artificial field, changing rooms, technical area and floodlights.
Residents have been hailing the project initiated by the current New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration considering the fact it will impact positively on the development of sports in the area.
