Attacks on Ghanaians in South Africa a Wake-Up Call for Leaders – Nana Adu Gyamfi

CEO of Shamor Group of Companies urges political leaders to move beyond slogans and deliver on promises to Ghana’s youth

A prominent Ghanaian business leader says the recent attacks on Ghanaians in South Africa should serve as a stark signal to the country’s political leaders that they have failed the nation’s youth and that Ghana must be fixed.

Nana Adu Gyamfi Kumanim Berima Kese I, Chief Executive Officer of the Shamor Group of Companies, made the remarks in an interview on Wontumi TV, condemning the violence while drawing attention to deeper structural failures at home that he says drive Ghanaians to seek their futures abroad.

Nana Adu called on Ghana’s youth to hold their political leaders directly accountable for unkept promises, insisting that campaign pledges must transcend the level of slogans and translate into tangible improvements in citizens’ lives.

“Promises should not just be words. The youth must ensure that these promises are fulfilled and translated into real benefits for the people,” he stated.

He also called on African leaders to take the matter seriously by implementing policies that will strengthen their economies and provide better prospects for their citizens, thereby reducing tensions and migration-related challenges across the continent.

Nana Adu Gyamfi emphasized that only through responsible leadership and accountability can African nations prevent such incidents and promote unity among their people.

“Youth should hold politicians responsible for failing to meet their promises,” he urged. “Promises should not just be slogans or celebrated  they must become a reality for the citizens.”
