A senior lecturer with the Kumasi Technical University (KSTU), Ishaq Kyei-Brobbey has warned that the attacks being targeted at Chief Justice Kwasi Anin-Yeboah by some members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are needless.
Dr. Ishaq Kyei-Brobbey in addressing the issue on Wontumi TV stated that the NDC’s attack on the Chief Justice is borne out the election petition they lost at the Supreme Court.
He reminded the NDC had this happened under the watch of Justice William Atubuga, he would have jailed Dominic Ayeni just like he did to Mr. Ken Kuranchie some years ago during the 2012 election petition hearing.
A senior member of the NDC, Dominic Ayeni has questioned the independence of the Judiciary at a forum organised by the Centre for Democratic Development, Ghana.
He has received support from his party’s General Secretary, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia and they have set an agenda to tarnish the image of the court.
Chief Justice, Kwasi Anin-Yeboah, has filed a petition to the General Legal Council of Ghana against Dr. Ayine for questioning the independence of the Judiciary.
But shortly after the move, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia alias General Mosquito, launched a spirited defense for Dr. Ayine and ordered the Chief Justice to redraw his petition.
