Ashanti Regional Minister Observes My First Day At School

After a long closure of schools amidst the outbreak of the coronavirus, students are back in school to continue their studies.

Today, 19/01/21 is the day slated for the observance of My First Day at School across the country.

With this, the Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Simon Osei Mensah has toured some schools in Kumasi to observe the My First Day at School.

Some of the schools he toured were, Opoku Ware Basic School, Queen Elizabeth II, M/A Basic School, Santasi M/A Basic School among others.

Speaking with Nana Owusu Achiaw, Hon. Simon Osei Mensah said that, My First Day at School for this has taken a different twist because of the coronavirus.

According to him, he is enthused about how the COVID protocols are being observed in the school especially the wearing of the nose mask.

“Majority of the children are wearing the nose masks except few children.” He said

Hon. Simon Osei Mensah admonished the children not to put the nose mask in their pocket or wear it under their chin.

According to the Ashanti Regional Minister, because of the COVID-19, the schools in the Region have encountered infrastructure challenges so he will meet the Regional Director for Education to end the issue to the Education Ministry to find a solution to it.
