President Nana Akufo- Addo has set the record straight with respect to who actially initiated the Asante Akim Central Municipal Hospital by insisting that it is former President, John A Kuffuor’s administration which deserves the credit.
Nana Akufo-Addo thetefore debunked claims by the Konongohene, Nana Dr Awuah Abedimisa that former President, John Mahama initiated the project.
According to the President the Project was initiated in 2008 as part of Ghana Hospital Project initiative and executed by the Euroget.
The President said this on Sunday during the Commissioning of the Hospital at Konongo.
Nana Akufo-Addo noted that providing such a facility, the six to be completed in the country, will surely deliver quality service to the people of Konongo and its environs was long overdue.
Nana Addo added that the Ghana Hospital Project includes the Design Construction and equipment of one Military Hospital, 2 Regional Hospitals and 6 District Hospitals in Ghana at the Project cost of 339 million united States’ dollars
The President indicated that it falls under the broader objective of providing infrastructure that can deliver effective healthcare to the citizenry.
