Asafohene Cuts Sod For Construction Of Kumasi International Convention Centre

 

Nana Boakye Agyeman Bonsu ll, the Chief of Asafo has cut the sod for the construction of an ultra modern International Convention Centre in the Kumasi Metropolis of the Ashanti Region.

Nana Agyeman who is also the Otumfour’s Akwamuhene represented Otumfour Osei Tutu ll, the overlord of Ashanti Kingdom at the ceremony.

The project which comes with an exhibition hall, deluxe shops, office complex, luxury hotel, hi- tech gyms centre, conference hall, theme parks, swimming pools, cosmetic clinic, all value at $20million dollars, is expected to be completed in 5 years time.

Speaking at a short ceremony to hand over the project site to the contractor, Nana Bonsu ll, expressed their readiness for the second largest International Convention hub to be built in Kumasi.

He opined that, the facility when completed, would go a long way to serve the residents of Kumasi and it’s environs.

According to him, the business convention Centre is also expected to benefit other regions that share common boundaries with Ashanti Region.

He was optimistic that, with such business centre, Kumasi was on course to attract more investors.

On his part, the Chief Executive Officer, (CEO) of Caitec Group, Mr. Tang Hong thanked the chiefs and promised to complete the project on scheduled to boost business in Kumasi and Ghana as a whole.

Hon. Stephen Ofori, the Presiding Member (PM) for the Kumasi Metropolitan Assemby (KMA), who re-presented the (KMA) Mayor Hon. Osei Asibbey Antwi was thankful to the traditional authorities and the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government for their lobbying skills to get such monumental project in Kumasi.

He, therefore, pledged the Assemby Members support for the successful completion of the business centre.
