The Municipal Chief Executive of Aowin, Hon. Samuel Adu- Gyamfi, has said that the construction of quality school buildings has led to the children in the area to develop a special passion for education.
He said that at first, the children were learning in thatched buildings and due to that they lost the motivation of attending school.
In an interview on Wontumi Radio and TV’s Election 2020 flagship programme, Hon. Adu-Gyamfi noted that, among the several educational infrastructural projects in the Municipality, government has constructed a 3- Unit classroom block at Asemkrom and a 6- Unit classroom block at Odiefokrom.
Wontumi TV viewers sighted an imposing 12- Unit Classroom block and a renovation of ICT Center at Enchi which the government has funded.
The MCE expressed joy that the government’s policy of decentralizing infrastructural projects especially with respect to the location of Regional head offices of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDS’s) has opened up the newly created Western North Region.
“This policy of bringing development to the doorsteps of all has become a big source of inspiration to the people who are taking advantage of the initiative to make a huge economic benefit. This explains the wisdom of the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the people of the new Region will forever be grateful.” He observed.
According to Hon Adu-Gyamfi another factor which has given a big impetus to the government’s development process is community initiated projects which complement the government’s efforts.
“There are several of them with the local people feeling proud of their achievements because it has positioned them as true agents of development.”
