Chairman Wontumi has grown to become a brand for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and anybody intending to contest him is doing so for hype and not with intent to take over from him, the Ashanti Regional Chairman for the Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP) has said.
“The person who wants to contest Chairman Wontumi is purely doing so for hype… he knows he isn’t right to lead the party when Wontumi is around. Chairman Wontumi carries a heavy name and the NDC are scared of him”, Mr. Kofi Owusu Omar remarked .
Mr. Kofi Owusu Omar also warned the NPP against falling for the propaganda being peddled around by elements of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) against the leadership skills of Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi.
In an interview on Wontumi TV which was monitored by Wontumionline.com, the GCPP Chairman noted that “Wontumi understands the political game well so the NPP has to play the game with him full time”.
He mentioned that until Chairman Wontumi comes out to state that he is tired and can’t lead the NPP as their Ashanti regional chairman, the party shouldn’t make a mistake by deserting him.
