Assembly Election: Chairman Wontumi Leads NPP To Win NDC’s New Edubiase

The high number of votes obtained by vice President Bawumia during the super delegates’ conference is testament that anybody who attempts to contest him further is in to pay non-refundable “political school fees” and write “remedial” which won’t enhance their political future, the Ashanti region Chairman for the New Patriotic Party has said.

“If you are not careful and you want to move further, you will be paying political school fees and engaging in remedial which would yield no results”, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi said in an interview to Paul Adom-Otchere.

Chairman Wontumi also described the votes given to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia during the super delegates’ conference by delegates in his home region as “political agape love”.

Speaking to ace journalist Paul Adom-Otchere shortly after the results were announced, the NPP Chairman popularly known as Chairman Wontumi stated that Dr. Bawumia recorded high votes from Ashanti region and the northern sector part of Ghana because the two regions believe in him.

“In Ashanti region, we leave peacefully with our brothers and sisters from the north. They (Northerners) have their chiefs here so all the time the Ashantis and Northerners think they are the same”, Chairman Wontumi stressed.

He continued that the respect Ashantis have for the people from the North, even influenced their decision to name their stadium “Baba Yara”.
