“Any independent candidate who will contest a parliamentary seat in Ashanti region is backed by John Mahama” the Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Bosiako has stated.
According to him, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), is doing everything in its power to win all parliamentary seats from the ruling party.
He believes that any independent candidate contesting a parliamentary seat in the Ashanti region is on the ticket of the opposition.
He made this known during his visit to Asante Akyim North, as part of the Ashanti regional campaign tour ahead of the elections.
“Asiedu Nketia and Mahama have already said they will bring an independent candidate to contest the parliamentary seat so that the NPP will lose. This is why I am saying the NDC is behind it. Let me add that it is better the candidate steps down. He should join the winning party which is the NPP” he stressed.
Let me ask, don’t married couples have issues? Don’t students have problems with their teachers sometimes? Why would you have an issue with your party members and decide to contest independently?” He quizzed.
He therefore admonished electorates not to fall the words of any independent candidate.
