Anxiety, Loneliness, Broken Heart and Lack Of Parental Understanding Related To Recent Suicidal Behavior – Former Judge Reveals

The rate at which suicide activities have been alarming in Ghana off late has called for a serious attention from the government and other stakeholders who could speak against it to help curb the situation.

Meanwhile a former Magistrate of Ghana who is currently performing his duties as a full Lawyer, Justice Samuel Kwasi Agyei has revealed that it is not only poverty that lure people into suicidal behavior as perturbed by many.

Rather, he said disappointments in relationships that have been a major cause of suicides in Ghana, he told Obaa Adwoa Nelson Aweh on MMRA NE ABRABO munsem program on Wontumi TV on Sunday.

He added that he has dealt with a lot of suicide attempted cases when he was a judge which he revealed the reasons for the act are mostly easy to address issues.

“…and so we must all take it up on ourselves to deal with the issue inwardly,” he stressed.

He further revealed that, in 2012 there was 1,500 suicide cases in Ghana and he believe as in 2021 it might have risen to a higher figure saying the society must keep on preaching against it since it is a bad act for a human being to practice.
