Anwiankwanta-Obuasi Road 80% Complete – Engineer
The Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon Simon Osei Mensah, on Friday July 23, 2021, inspected ongoing work on the 31.5km and 3.5km dual carriage Anwiankwanta-Obuasi road.
The Resident Engineer for the project, Ernest Owusu Ansah told Wontumionline’s Nana Owusu Achiaw that, the project is about 80% complete.
According to him, he and his team are ahead of time frame given to them.
“We are hoping to complete the project by 2023,” he said.
According to Owusu Ansah, the challenge they encountered was the sacking of the squatters from the road to pave way for the construction of the dual carriageway.
He said, the squatters have been vacated and paved way for the construction.
Meanwhile, the Resident Engineer urged the road users to be careful of plying the road.
He said, “the road is under construction and the number of accidents we are recording is overwhelming.”
