Alan’s Decision To Withdraw A Wise One….Addai-Nimoh & Akoto Afriyie Must Do Same- Prof. Smart Sarpong

Prof. Smart Sarpong Rightly Predicted Adwoa Safo Will Lose Dome-Kwabenya Seat

Hon. Alan Kyerematen’s decision to withdraw from his party’s impending Presidential Primaries is a “wise” decision, Prof. Smart Sarpong has said.

The director of Research and Innovation at the Kumasi Technical University stated on the Wontumi Morning Show that he wasn’t surprised by the statement issued by the former Trade Minister informing the public about his decision to bow out.

According to him, he believes Alan Kyerematen arrived at his decision following several meetings to analyze his strength in the race.

“This is a very wise decision in my view. He is true manager, calculates the risk and chances and takes a decision that saves us all…it brings a lot of peace in the party”, Prof Smart Sarpong said.

He used the occasion to call on Hon. Francis Addai-Nimoh and Hon. Owusu Akoto Afriyie, to emulate the move by Hon. Alan Kyerematen to save them contesting in a race which won’t go in their favour.

“They have to go to the boardroom. Just like in 2024, we don’t have to have Hon. Ayairga and others on the ballot sheet”, he said as he empathized on the need to reduce the number of candidates to contest the national election.

Hon. Alan Kyerematen has observed that after carefully analyzing the results from his party’s Special Delegates Conference, he has come to a conclusion that the process was strategically and tactically skewed in favour of one particular aspirant.

In a statement issued by Hon. Alan Kyerematen, he also indicated that certain pronouncements made by some leading members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), it makes him believe his observations were right.

“In light of the foregoing, I wish to confirm that I am honourably withdrawing from the process that will lead to the Presidential Primaries to be held onn the 4th of November 2023. In the next upcoming weeks, I will provide an indication of the role that I will play in politics in Ghana, after consultations with my family and other well-wishers, various stakeholders and interest groups.”
