President Akufo-Addo immediately switched to an angry mood right after learning a delegation from Wenchi had walked into his study to congratulate him for winning the 2020 Presidential election.
Kojo Frimpong shared a story on Wontumi TV where he was scolded for allowing the Wenchi seat to be lost.
Wenchi seat is a symbolic seat to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and President Akufo-Addo was not ready to overlook the shambolic news he had heard about losing the seat under his tenure.
“In 2020 when Nana Addo was declared the President of Ghana I went to his house. I went to his study with another man to congratulate him and I was introduced to him. As soon as Wenchi was mentioned, his mood changed and he became angry”, Kojo Frimpong said about his encounter with the President.
He continued that President Akufo-Addo gave them the hairdryer treatment by stating that
“You lose Wenchi, you lose Wenchi in my time. I am President of Ghana and you lose Wenchi- Busia seat (sic). I couldn’t utter a word I only humbled myself and told him Mr. President we will win Wenchi back in 2024”.
The journey to reclaim the Wenchi seat according to Kojo Frimpong, started after his visit to the study room of President Akufo-Addo.
