Akufo- Addo To Declare State Of Emergency Over 2022 Budget
The Member of Parliament for Afigya Kwabere North, Hon. Collins Adomako Mensah says if Parliament rejects the 2022 budget it will indicate that, from 1st January 2022, government workers will not receive salaries.
Hon. Adomako Mensah quickly added that if the above statement ensues President Akufo-Addo will have no option than to declare State of Emergency.
In an interview on Wontumi Radio Morning Show, he indicated that the Constitution gives President Akufo-Addo that mandate.
The Member of the Finance Committee stressed that, “if Akufo-Addo declares the State of Emergency, it implies he has been given the free will to govern.”
“Rejecting the budget is not easy. And am not sure the Minority will even think of that. If you do that it signifies that you don’t have the country at heart,” he said.
Meanwhile, According to the Afigya Kwabere North MP, so far the budget debate has been cordial.
