Akufo-Addo Promises Black Stars ‘Special Package’ For World Cup Qualification
Ghanaian President, Nana Akufo-Add says he has a “special package” planned for the Black Stars players and technical staff following their successful World Cup qualification campaign.
Speaking at the Jubilee House, where he met with the Black Stars on their return from Abuja, after they earned a 1-1 draw to make it through to the tournament in Qatar, the President reiterated his gratitude to the team.
Nana Addo was elated that the Black Stars had secured a place at the next World Cup on his birthday, and said so, describing the qualification as “the icing on his cake.”
He assured the players that the bonuses promised them would be honoured and added that he was also preparing a separate package for the team although there was no indication of what the package would entail.
“Everybody is going to be behind you, we are going to give you all the support that we can. The arrangements that they have made with you before are all going to be properly honoured and we’ll make sure that everyone is properly recompensed for what has happened,” he said.
“I myself am organising a special package for you as a token of my appreciation and recognition.”
