The Ashanti regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has reaffirmed his commitment to ensure he plays a major role in ensuring the NPP breaks the 8year political cycle.
The NPP Chairman popularly known as Chairman Wontumi stated that he was elated to be given the recognition President Akufo-Addo made public when he introduced him to Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II as the “famous Chairman”.
Chairman Wontumi indicated that the praise has rather come to inspire him to do more to ensure the NPP’s agenda to break the 8 becomes a reality.
President Akufo-Addo recently christened Bernard Antwi-Boasiako as the most famous regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party.
The President, in introducing Mr. Antwi-Boasiako to the Asantehene at Palace at Manhyia, stated that “with me is the Regional Chairman, famous Chairman 1- Wontumi”.
The commendation and subtle endorsement by President Akufo-Addo on Chairman Wontumi for him to continue to lead the party in the Ashanti region, can be linked to the victory he ensured the Ashanti region brought to the table in the 2020 election.
It would be recalled that under the leadership of Chairman Wontumi, the Ashanti region gave the New Patriotic Party (NPP) 1,795, 824 as against the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) 653,149.
