Airbus Scandal Investigation: Mahama Being Pampered; NPP couldn’t use power to investigate such corrupt deal – Lawyer Obiri Boahen

A private legal practitioner and Former Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), lawyer Obiri Boahen says the NPP has over pampered the former president John Mahama on the Airbus bribery scandal investigations.

The legal practitioner lamented on the monies spent in the acquisition of three military aircraft by the government of Ghana between 2009 and 2015.

He said “What have we use the power for, Donald Trump is being prosecuted for so many charges. I don’t blame president Mahama, I blame the NPP. Look at the charges against Trump in the US”

He said the institutions should rise and investigate all alleged corrupt scandals.

“look at the amount involved in Airbus. that amount alone can construct Accra to Elubo dual courage road, from Accra to Volta. some people have stollen billions of monies in this country, the court always give excuses ‘my Lord my Lord my judge’, this and that, witch hunting. huge amount of money is in some individuals account and you cannot describe how they came by that this amount”

He called on the OSP to commence immediate investigations in all prone scandals in the system, adding that some of those monies can be invested in governments flagship programes.

“Ato Essien alone money can run Free SHS and more, I don’t sometimes get it why our institutions can’t hold people responsible, the institutions should be seeing working, they should be proactive. how do we account to the Banks that have collapsed and went away with peoples monies, DKM and others, it shouldn’t be Ato Essien alone”.
