As a political head, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party entered into the 2020 general elections with an agenda to grab all seats for the party he dearly serves.
Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako’s performance in the recently held elections is graded A despite winning 42 seats out of 47.
It is on this note that Mr. Antwi-Boasiako has explained to Wontumionline.com that he entered the fray with an agenda to sweep all seats in the region and is not heartbroken he didn’t get all.
Before election 2020, the NPP Chairman popularly known as Chairman Wontumi explains that “even some pastors prophesied that John Mahama would win, but he has lost. Mine move was not a prophesy but an agenda to capture seats”.
Wontumi’s performance in summary
The 2020 elections saw the NPP poll a new record number of close to 1.8million votes. Chairman Wontumi noted that “when I took over as Chairman, we were in opposition. I came in and increased our votes from 900,000 to 1.6million in 2016 and we won power. This year, I have increased it to nearly 1.8million. Do your assessment and tell me if I deserve to resign. I have the favor from God and man and you have to praise Ashanti region and Chairman Wontumi.”
