Aduana Stars have made a poor start to the Ghana Premier League despite coming into the season confident of winning the title.
The Fire club’s first against Hearts of Oak was cancelled due to coronavirus issues, so they got their campaign underway on matchday 2. Thus far, they have played three games and haven’t recorded a win.
They drew 1-1 in their first game against Karela United, followed by a goalless draw with Bechem United at home. But were beaten last weekend against Elmina Sharks 1-0.
Aduana are six points adrift of league leaders, Karela United.
However, the club’s Communications Director Evans Oppong has said that his outfit’s campaign will officially commence on Sunday when they take on Eleven Wonders. They are confident of a massive win against the Techiman-based club.
“Ghanaians should judge as from Sunday, we are going to put up a very good performance. We don’t have any problem in front of goal now because we have Bright Adjei, Yahaya Mohammed is also back”
“Prince Acquah has also recovered and we believe he can help us build the attack very well. We respect Eleven Wonders because they’ve done well since the season started. They were unbeaten until WAFA beat them 1-0 at their own backyard”
“We’ve had the opportunity to watch them against Kotoko and Olympics. It’s great to see about five or six injured players back into the team. So I believe Ghanaians will start judging us from Sunday going. Though we’ve played some matches in this campaign but our season is starting from Sunday” he said.
