The head of Monitoring and Evaluation at the Ministry of Lands and Forestry, has been fingered as being behind galamsey operations in Ghana.
The Bono regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party, Kwame Baffoe who dropped this bombshell alleged that despite government’s call for a halt in galamsey operations, the head of Monitoring and Evaluation Lands and Forestry officer is destroying forests through illegal mining and cutting down trees for his personal gain.
According to him, the alleged officer has his concession at Adamso Forest located in Obuasi where he is mining illegally.

Speaking on Wontumi TV, the NPP Chairman also known as Abronye revealed that the officer was doing damage to Ghana at Adamso Forest with the help of an officer of the NPP.
“If you indeed want to fight galamsey well, check your head of monitoring and evaluation, he is into serious galamsey business. Hon. Abu Jinapor, if you listening to me, the head of Monitoring and Evaluation at the Ministry of Lands and Forestry is into galamsey”, Abronye said.
Kwame Baffoe has therefore called on the Minister, Hon. Abu Jinapor to look into the matter and punish the officer for his involvement.
