The Bono regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party has blasted Citi FM’s Caleb Kudah, for feeding Al-Qaeda and similar groups with sensitive information about Ghana’s National Security.
Kwame Baffoe explains that Ghana is being surrounded by countries that have insurgents operating there and for that reason, there is a need to protect our National Security and not leak sensitive information about them.
His comments follow claims of assault on Caleb Kudah by some National Security operatives.
Mr. Kudah was detained by National Security operatives for filming abandoned vehicles parked at the premises of the security agency.
Following his action, some National Security operatives stormed the premises of Citi FM/Citi TV to pick up Broadcast Journalist Zoe Abu-Baidoo Addo for receiving some of the files captured by Mr. Kudah.
But responding to the issue on Wontumi TV’s Nsempa Fie show, the NPP Chairman stated that Caleb’s action has exposed the National Security together with every weakness to an enemy.

He therefore condemned the actions of the Citi FM journalist by stating that “we are being surrounded by militants in another country and the foolish action of Caleb Kudah would let them start planning.”
Abronye stated that although Ghana’s 1992 constitution talks about media freedom, it also attaches restrictions to it.
“You can’t just walk into a private area and take videos or pictures as contained in article 164 on the freedom of the media”, the NPP Chairman known as Abronye DC said.
He opined that Caleb could have applied the data collection act process if he needed information from the National Security.
“We have passed the data collection act so he could have used it. He hasn’t read about it, that is why he acted that way”, Abronye slammed the journalist.
Abronye further challenged people supporting Caleb to read the security and intelligence act and spot his flaws in the line of his duty before supporting him.
