A/R: Juaben Municipal Assembly, NADMO Extend Help To Disaster Victims With Bags Of Cement And Roofing Sheets
The Juaben Municipal Assembly and the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) have jointly extended aid to 17 disaster victims in the area who were rendered homeless by domestic fire and rainstorm.
The beneficiaries took home 200 cement bags, 22 packets of roofing sheets, blankets, assorted bathing soaps and mosquito nets.
Presenting the items, the Coordinating Director of the Assembly, Antwi Boasiako explained that the distribution of the items is a love gesture to ease the victims of the suffering caused by the disaster.
He urged them to use the items for the intended purpose.
For his part, the Municipal NADMO Director, Nana Adu advised the victims and the general public to change old wirings in their households to prevent fire disasters.
According to him, old wire cables are not just dangerous but can easily spark fire to destroy lives and property which might have taken a whole life’s investment.
“Let me take this opportunity to remind each and everyone that fire is very dangerous and we should not give way to it because it comes to destroy.Change quickly all old wirings because they easily spark fire and cause destruction to property and lives,” he posited.
Nana Adu called on Ghanaians to seek expert advise on wiring since it can go a long way to prevent fire disasters.
