A/R: Health Officials Declare December COVID-19 Vaccination Month

 

The Ashanti Regional Health Directorate has named December 2021 as a COVID-19 vaccination month.

Officials have settled on effecting measures that will ensure that as many as over 500,000 people of the regional population is vaccinated by the end of December this year.

Addressing the media, the Regional Health Director Dr. Emmanuel Tenkorang said the move will guide them to reach a head immunity stage; a strategic means to prevent a 4th wave.

Officials as part of their modus-operandi have resolved to carry out a house-to-house vaccination, community outreach vaccination, vaccination by phone request among others to reach their target.

According to the Director, they have so far been able to vaccinate 1.3 million and the target is to cover 4 million people in the region.

“We have a lot to do. We need to do more and get more people vaccinated”, the regional director indicated at the press briefing in Kumasi.
