E Levy, Betting Tax And DDEP Didn’t Help NPP At All- Lawyer Justin Frimpong Kodua

The introduction of E-levy, Betting Tax and Domestic Debt Exchange Program (DDEP), were in bad taste and hurt the fortunes of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), lawyer Justin Frimpomg Kodua has said.

“E-levy and betting tax didn’t help us at all”, the General Secretary for the NPP said as he pointed out interventions that went against the NPP in the 2024 general elections.

In a one-on-one interview on the Wontumi Morning Show with host- Kwaku Kyeremanteng, Justin Frimpong Kodua stated that another intervention that hurt the party was the Domestic Debt Exchange Programme (DDEP) which caused voters to vote out the NPP.

“DDEP was an intervention to save the bank but our mothers with their pensions at the bank- such a person if you tell her that you will pay her in the next 10 years- as General Secretary I didn’t know how to convince them with”, he honestly opened up.

He classified some of the decisions that went against the NPP in the 2024 general elections as “government decision not a party one”.
