Tanzania forward Clara Luvanga has reportedly become the most expensive female footballer in history after completing her move from Al-Nassr to Washington Spirit.
The 21-year-old has joined the National Women’s Soccer League side on a four-year contract running through 2029, with reports putting the transfer fee at $2.3 million.
Luvanga’s move comes after three successful seasons in Saudi Arabia, where she helped Al-Nassr win three consecutive Saudi Women’s Premier League titles.
She also won the Saudi Women’s Cup, Saudi Women’s Super Cup and WAFF Women’s Clubs Championship, while scoring 24 goals to claim the league’s Golden Boot in the 2025/26 season.
The reported $2.3 million fee puts Luvanga at the top of a rapidly changing women’s transfer market.
