Mahama and his NDC are deceivers – George Akom

2024 New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary candidate for Sekyere Afram Plains, Hon. George Akom has criticised the National Democratic Congress(NDC) administration led by John Mahama, saying they have not kept most of their major campaign promises.

According to him, the NDC rode on flowery and sweet messages that built hope in the minds and hearts of Ghanaians, but sadly those messages have turned bitter and are rather hurting the nation.

He said President Mahama promised jobs, but the jobs are no where to be found.

“Youth unemployment is soaring, yet they have not taken concrete steps to help steer affairs. The youth had high hopes in them that they will deliver but we are not seeing anything. Even their famous 1-3-3 has lost its steam,” he said.

He said he cannot rate President Mahama because, ratings are given to those with progress. He believes the NDC administration has no credibility because their promises and what they have delivered do not match.

According to him, the NDC now is singing different tunes from when they were seeking power, “before we look at your progress, we will have to do a retrospection on what you said you will do when you’re given power, but when you look at some of the things they said they would do, and what has been done, there is no correlation. They have totally backtracked on all their promises,” he added.

Hon. Akom said the President is sleeping on galamsey as the bold statements he made and his actions now are walking on different paths including the pressure he put on former President Akuffo Addo.

“Again, galamsey was something they campaigned on and used against the NPP, but galamsey is still alive more than ever.

The President in his campaign criticized former President Akuffo Addo and told him to declare a state of emergency but when he came, he said it’s not feasible.”
In his last address on why he believes President Mahama has deceived Ghanaians, Hon. Akom said the President’s actions on the family values bill and the recent statements he’s been making all point at different directions from when he was in campaign.

He said, “Our nation is a Christian nation, and we abhor same sex marriage. The President promised he will sign the family values bill when he comes to power. He is here and yet we have not seen anything tangible from him even after all the pressure he and his party people put on President Akuffo Addo.”
