Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Chairman Wontumi, says criticisms of his educational background by political opponents did not deter him from delivering results for the party.
Speaking in an interview with Kwaku Dawuro on Movement TV, Wontumi said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) attempted to use his educational background as a political weapon against him, but he remained focused on performance and hard work.
According to him, his guiding principle throughout his political career has been captured in the slogan “Chairman Get the Job Done.”
“The NDC was trying to use my educational background to belittle me. However, what they forgot was that I was a man of action. I was a man of ensuring that the job is done, and that was the most important thing,” he said.
Wontumi argued that leadership should be judged by results rather than academic qualifications alone, insisting that his contributions to the NPP’s electoral fortunes demonstrate his effectiveness.
He credited the party’s victories in both the 2016 and 2020 general elections to the collective efforts of party executives, supporters, and campaign teams across the country.
The NPP chairman also disclosed that he extended his campaign activities beyond the Ashanti Region, traveling to regions such as Bono, Ahafo, and the Northern Region to support the party’s electoral efforts.
According to him, his commitment to the NPP’s success has always been driven by a determination to deliver tangible results rather than engage in political rhetoric.
