In a Facebook post shared to commemorate the milestone, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) expressed profound appreciation to God for what he described as decades of “unfailing love, protection, strength, and faithfulness.”

He acknowledged that his journey has been shaped by both triumphs and challenges, including periods of criticism, misunderstanding, and hardship.

Despite these difficulties, Chairman Wontumi noted that divine guidance, coupled with the support and prayers of Ghanaians, has sustained him throughout his life and leadership journey.

Describing his 50th birthday as more than a personal celebration, he emphasized its significance as a moment of maturity, reflection, and renewed responsibility. He highlighted the importance of learning from past experiences, embracing growth, and maintaining humility and compassion in leadership.

“As I begin this new chapter, I do so with renewed hope, deeper wisdom, and a stronger commitment to humanity and national service,” he stated.

To mark the occasion, Chairman Wontumi undertook several philanthropic initiatives aimed at supporting healthcare delivery. These included the donation of an ambulance to the Kuntanase Government Hospital, the settlement of medical bills for patients on admission and at the Outpatient Department (OPD), and financial support for babies born on his birthday by covering their hospital expenses.

He said the gestures were inspired by his desire to positively impact lives and offer hope, particularly during challenging times.

According to him, the appreciation shown by patients, families, and healthcare workers reinforced his belief that true leadership lies in service to others.

Chairman Wontumi also used the opportunity to thank individuals who sent him birthday wishes, prayers, and messages of encouragement, describing their support as deeply meaningful.

He concluded his message with a call for unity, patriotism, and collective responsibility in building a stronger Ghana, expressing optimism that the nation can overcome its challenges through faith, hard work, and shared purpose.

“May God bless you all abundantly, and may God continue to bless our dear nation,” he added.
