A/R: Nana Oteatuoso Congratulates NPP Campaign Team, Urges Members To Be “Workaholic”
Etwienana Baffour Oteatuoso Kokoben II, Akwanserehene of Akyem Kwabeng has congratulated the Ashanti Regional NPP team placed in-charge of the Election 2020 Campaign activities as frontliners to help the party retain power in the December polls.
He admonished the members to be committed and put the interest of the party first.
Speaking on Wontumi Morning Show programme in Kumasi which was carried live simultaneously, via Wontumi Radio and TV, the firebrand NPP staunch supporter said the campaign team has a tedious work to do in ensuring that the NPP continuous to remain in power.
“This’s the time the campaign team has to market the achievements of the government to Ghanaians to help the party clinch victory on December 7.” Nana Oteatuoso stated.
The popular Chief further suggested that the team has to carry the message down to the grassroots to explain to the rural communities all the government’s projects and how Ghanaians have benefited from the NPP’s achievements.
“There is no time to sleep nor rest. They have to hit the ground running.” He urged the party members to convince especially, those who are undecided on which candidate or party to vote for in either the presidential or parliamentary election to exercise their franchise for them.
Nana Oteatuoso reminded the party faithful that it was due to the lack of proactive marketing of President Kufuor’s achievements which caused the defeat of the NPP in 2008.
“To avoid a similar pitfall you should not relent on your efforts to go all out in convincing the electorate particularly, those in opposition parties to vote for NPP.” He cautioned.
He is however, hopeful that Ghanaians in general would not repeat the mistake of 2008 and drag the country backwards.
Background
The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, together with the party’s General Secretary, Mr. John Boadu, led a ceremony yesterday to inaugurate a “solid” campaign team for the region ahead of the 2020 general elections.
In an address by the Chairman for the Campaign, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, he mentioned that the NPP is targeting all 47 seats in the Ashanti region and is planning to take away all seats the National Democratic Congress is currently holding.
Chairman Wontumi as he is largely known, called for unity and maintained that with “science and data”, they could achieve the dream of reducing the NDC’s vote in Ashanti region.
The party’s General Secretary, Mr John Boadu, congratulated the team and pleaded with them to help the party hit its target for 2020.
At the same ceremony, the Special Aide and Political Strategist for Chairman Wontumi, Andy Owusu,Andy, who is part of the 35 member Regional Campaign Team inaugurated on Tuesday, was sworn in to lead the operational and grounds duties of the party in the Region.
Andy will be co-ordinating all activities involving other identifiable groups such as Volunteers, IT and Media, including social media.
