Coronavirus: Ghana’s Active Cases Climb To 1,250; Death Toll Hits 794

Ghana has recorded total number of 1,250 active COVID-19 cases and 794 deaths as at 17th June, 2021. This was revealed by the Presidential advisor on Health, Dr. Anthony Nsia Asare.

He further revealed that, 1,241,303 coronavirus tests have been conducted.

Speaking exclusively on Wontumi Radio/TV Morning Show, Dr. Nsiah Asare said that unlike Ghana, some countries have seen a huge surge in the pandemic.

He bemoaned that some Ghanaians have stopped observing the protocols with claims that the coronavirus is no more in the system.

The Presidential Advisor on Health emphasized that the testing of passengers at the Kotoka International Airport have aided massively in the reduction of the cases.

He told Nana Konadu Abu Prah that 31,826 tests have been conducted at the airport.

“The vaccines too have helped to reduce the cases. What is left for us is to keep on wearing the nose masks and observe the protocols,” he appealed.
