250 Youth Trained In ICT

Soul Food Ministries Information and Communication Technology (ICT) College has trained 250 youth in ICT to help build their capacity and make them employable.

The three-month training saw participants receive skills in different aspects of ICT such as hardware, networking, programming, CCTV installation, satellite dish installation, Business Management and Internet Entrepreneurship.

Speaking at the 43rd graduation ceremony of the beneficiaries in Accra on December 10, the Director of the school, Eddie Letsa, said the training was to empower the youth with digital skills to help reduce the unemployment rate in the country.

He said technology was the engine of growth for the country hence there was the need to invest in it to help solve many of the challenges we faced.

He said the college, which has been in existence for 13 years, operated on the theme: “Free Computer Training for All” sponsored by the church, Soul Food Ministries International.

“Soul Food Ministry International strives to train students in these information technology programmes as its contribution to the welfare of the youth and society at large to make lives better through the provision of computer skills.

In the past 13 years of pursuing this vision, over 17,000 students have benefited from Soul Food Ministry International’s Free for All Computer Training Programme- most of whom are gainfully employed,” he said.
