2026 World Cup qualifier: Black Stars arrive in Kumasi ahead of Madagascar clash

The Black Stars have touched down in Kumasi ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualifier against Madagascar on Friday.

The team left Accra on Tuesday and will train later in the day as preparations begin for the opening Group I clash.

The Ayew brothers, Andre Dede Morgan Ayew and Jordan Pierre Ayew, arrived in camp with notable names like Baba Idrissu, Jonathan Sowah, Joseph Paintsil, Osman Buakri, Gideon Mensah, and Joojo Wollacot joining them.

The team was scheduled to hold its first training at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday, but the technical team made a change to the team’s schedule ahead of the Madagascar and Comoros games.

“Team will now fly to Kumasi on Tuesday morning instead of Wednesday,” a post on X confirmed.

Chris Houghton revealed in an interview that he’s focused and that his target is to gain all the maximum points in the two games. The match will be played on Friday at exactly 4:00 p.m.

The match official at the centre of everything will be Moroccan referee Samir Guezzaz.
