2024 Polls: Nana Kwame Bediako Not A Threat To Bawumia, NPP – Nana Obiri Boahen

Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen, a staunch supporter of Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia says renowned Ghanaian business mogul, Nana Kwame Bediako, popularly known as Cheddar or Freedom Jacob Caesar contesting for President will not affect the New Patriotic  Party (NPP) Presidential candidate Dr Bawumia bid to win the election.

Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen added that the support base of Cheddar is not a threat to the Vice President and the NPP.

Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen admitted that Cheddar is a successful businessman but his movement will not jeopardize Dr Bawumia’s chances of winning the December 7 polls.

“Nobody knew the New Force until he revealed himself as the man behind the mask. Cheddar has money and I won’t argue on that but it’s not a worry to us. His movement will not have any effect on Dr Bawumia, he said on Wontumi TV/Radio and captured by Nana Owusu Achiaw.

However, wading into the cancellation of the New Africa Foundation convention by the government, he said: “You can’t fault the government. You can’t fault IGP because security matter is something you can’t compromise.

The Presidency explained why the organizers of The Convention, a pan-African event, were told to cancel the programme a few hours before the start on Sunday, January 7.

The Diaspora Affairs Directorate at the Office of the President said it was necessitated by an “unforeseen” state event scheduled to take place at the same venue.

In a press release, Dr Fynn stated, “We write to revoke immediately the permission granted per our letter No.OP/PH/02 dated November 11, 2024, approved your request to use the Black Star Square for the above event.

“This decision has been necessitated by an unforeseen State Event scheduled to take place at the venue,” the statement added.

Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen stressed if the government thought the convention would erupt chaos in the country hence the halting then the government was spot on.

He urged the government to clear the air over allegations made by Cheddar that he paid Ghc30K for the Convention venue, Black Star Square but the government has refunded him Ghc10K.
