2024 Election Research: Bawumia Takes The Lead, Mahama Lags Behind

A concrete and factual research on the 2024 Presidential election is out and the outcome, puts Dr. Bawumia ahead of his main rival, former President John Mahama.

The survey conducted by Prof. Smart Sarpong, discovered that 38.9% of electorates prefer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as President compared to the 36.1% who settled on John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Another intriguing part of the research was that regions such as Ahafo, Ashanti, Bono, Central, Eastern, North East, Western, and Western North threw their support behind the NPP’s candidate.

As at the end of April 2024, the research paper indicates that about  21.4 % of prospective voters are yet to decide which Presidential candidate to vote for which fits them in the category of floating voters.

The Volta region, considered a ‘world bank‘ of the NDC hasn’t changed much. According the findings of Prof. Sarpong, 75.7 % of voters in Volta region have decided to vote John Dramani Mahama and the NDC.

However, the most decided region in favour of Dr Bawumia is North East with 60% of voters going for him.
