Government Rolls Out Visa-on-arrival For Inbound Travellers Till January 15

Ghana Government has waived pre-arrival visa acquisition for travellers to Ghana effective Thursday, December 22, 2022 to Sunday, January 15, 2023. According to the Transport Minister, Kwaku Ofori Asiamah passengers would rather receive their visas upon arrival into the country. The move is in furtherance of the government’s “Beyond the Return” initiative. The Trades Union Congress (TUC) has rescinded its plan to embark on an indefinite nationwide industrial action from December 27. Government has announced an exemption of all pension funds from the Debt Exchange Programme. This follows a meeting between Organised Labour, Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations, the Finance Ministry, National Security Ministry and all other parties involved on Thursday, December 22. The exemption of all pension funds, however, is subject to the government and Organised Labour working together to explore mutually beneficial options within the debt sustainability terms.
