2022 Budget: Unlike NPP, NDC Doesn’t Think Outside The Box- John Boadu Roars
The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has responded to the largest opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) criticism against the proponent of the Electronic Levy in the 2022 budget.
According to the NPP, it’s not wooed by the NDC objections.
The NPP General Secretary, John Boadu asserted this during a press conference in Kumasi to mount a serious defense on the 2022 budget.
John Boadu fumed that the only difference between the NPP and the NDC is that, the latter doesn’t think outside the box.
He recalled that in 2006 when former President Kufour government introduced talk tax the NDC vehemently criticized it but when they came to power in 2009, they didn’t scrap it.
The NPP General Secretary was quick to say that, a future NDC government will not scrap the E-Levy but will rather maintain it.
He uncovered that MTN and the other Telcos receive 2% of the MoMo tax but don’t contribute to national development.
He appealed to the public to rally behind the government’s decision to collect the tax to foster development.
“The statement Dr Bawumia made on digitization is real which cannot be contended,” John Boadu said.
