2021 Mid-Year Budget Review One Of The Best- Deputy Finance Minister

The Deputy Minister for Finance, Dr. John Kumah has affirmed that the 2021 mid-year budget review is one of the best budget review when compared to previous years.

He said this in an interview on Wontumi Radio/TV flagship programme, Amamuo Mu Nsem on Friday.

According to him, the budget review was based on three things.

Dr. John Kumah enumerated them as:
1. consolidation
2. No introduction of new tax
3. Youth employment

According to the Ejisu MP, the Finance Ministry wanted Ghanaians to know the measures the government has put in place in the coronavirus season.

Lawyer John Kumah admitted that, Ghana’s debt has surged to $334 billion.

But he was quick to stress that, Ghana is not the only country that is owing.

“The pandemic has created a lot of hardships so every country is increasing their debt,” he said.

He said that the indebted countries are not thinking about their debt rather how to protect the citizens against the COVID-19.

Hon. John Kumah noted that, Ghana is among the three countries that have fought the spread of the coronavirus.
