2020 Election Campaign: “Akandor to lose seat To NPP As NDC Is Tired And Sleeping”- Sefwi-Juaboso DCE Fires
The District Chief Executive of Sefwi-Juaboso, Hon. Martha Kwayie Manu, has jabbed the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), saying “ their posturing suggest that they are tired and have been sleeping in this year’s elections campaign.”
According to her, the NDC’s usual campaign strategy of making empty noise has this time around been matched with the physical projection of the achievements of the NPP in the area and this critical approach has shut the mouth of the NDC.
Hon. Kwayie Manu in an interview on Wontumi Radio and TV flagship programme dubbed Election 2020, noted that, at first the campaign by the NDC in the area was done using sweet talks, lies and propaganda to convince the electorate to gain votes. But now they have become more discerning to the extent that they would exercise their franchise based on achievements of both parties.
The DCE who is also the NPP’s Parliamentary Candidate for the area in the December election revealed that, the NDC have since 1992 regarded the Juaboso Parliamentary seat as their bonafide property by winning all the elections by a landslide victory
The DCE lamented that, in the 2008 general elections the NPP topped the polls in only two polling stations out of a total 113. Four years later the polling station victory appreciated by just four seats making a total of six. However, the figure dramatically jumped to 59 in the 2016 general elections.
She attributed the electoral fortunes of the NPP to the rapport she had with the electorate and the gargantuan campaign the NPP embarked upon.
Hon. Kwayie Manu is convinced that the electorate have literally “carried wine and water and have known the one that is heavier.
Hon. Kwayie Manu boasted that, she is the first ever female DCE to be appointed by President Akufo-Addo to steer the affairs in the area and that the residents have witnessed the massive transformation she has brought.
“The people have juxtaposed the achievements of NPP with NDC and Insha Allah, NPP will snatch the seat this year.” She confidently affirmed.
