20 Million Dollar Studio To Be Built For The Film Industry — Awal Mohammed
The Minister designate for Tourism, Art and Culture, Alhaji Ibrahim Awal Mohammed has revealed that his Ministry will put up a 20 million studio to support the film industry when given the nod.
Mr Awal Mohammed made this clear when he met the Appointment Committee of Parliament in Accra.
He indicated that USD 20 million studio if built will make Ghana the hub of film in West Africa.
According to the nominee, the Nigerians Nollyhood industry were able to generate USD190 Million two years ago which also created 1 million jobs for the people.
He continued that, in the same year Hollywood also generated 2.1 million jobs, which gave them an income over 4 million dollars.
Mr Awal expressed that Ghana can equally do it if we have the film studio to produce movies to help promote the creative art center.
He said it can also help us exhibit our culture and stick to our local content than patronizing western movies.
In concluding, he said there is the need to make the artists in the industry strong and rich to boost the creative art industry.
