1D1F: Govt To Construct 107 Factories Next Year- Akufo-Addo Discloses
Nana Akufo-Addo, President of the Republic has disclosed that his government would construct some 107 factories under the One District One Factory which would be completed by the second quarter of 2021.
According to President Akufo-Addo 76 factories are currently operational.
He made this statement during the commissioning of Budukwan Multi Fruit Processing Factory and Budukwan Green Houses with the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II monitored by wontumionline.com.
Nana Akufo-Addo noted that, when he made mention of the one District One Factory Policy, some naysayers said that he can’t fulfill but it has come to reality.
“I thank Otumfuo for seeing the importance of the 1D1F and has established this factory under it.” He indicated
President Akufo-Addo stressed that, “we are transforming our nation. We are not selling factories but building them.”
He affirmed that, the 1D1F policy has crated 140, 000 jobs.
The Commander in Chief of the Ghana Armed forces said that he is very happy that, the Budukwan factory has three companies under it.
He named them as the multi fruit processing company, Budukwan farms limited and royal jute factory.
President commended the cooperation between the Ghana Exim Bank and the Ministry of Trade and Industry, ” who have made it possible to launch this ¢45m investment project”
He revealed that the Multi Fruit Processing factory will provide direct employment of over 100 adding that it will create 1000 indirect jobs.
Nana Akufo-Addo said that the company already has 600 acres of mango plantation to enhance the fruit processing.
