Your Gov’t Is A Listening One- GUTA Lauds President Akufo-Addo

President Akufo-Addo’s decision to stall the rolling out of the benchmark value has been hailed by Mr. Clement Boateng, the National Vice Chairman for Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA).  

In an interview on Wontumi TV, Mr. Clement Boateng, lauded President Akufo-Addo’s government by describing it as a “listening government”. 

He stated that GUTA was grateful to President Akufo-Addo for calling for more stakeholder consultation on the issue of benchmark value. 

He added that GUTA wasn’t against Ghana’s industrialization drive. 

President Akufo-Addo on Saturday directed the Ghana Revenue Authority to stay the rollout of the benchmark value reversal policy to allow for broader stakeholder engagement. 

The President gave a deadline of January 17 for all consultations to conclude. 

As part of the government’s efforts towards promoting local production, the discounts on benchmark values for some elected items were announced in the 2022 budget were to be scrapped.
