Your Conduct On The Initial Budget Rejection Was Monotonous – Former MP Chides Speaker Of Parliament

A former Member of Parliament for the Suhum Constituency, Hon. Frederick Opare-Ansah has thrown missiles at the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin on his conduct on the initial rejection of the 2022 budget.

According to the former Suhum MP, the conduct of the Speaker was unpalatable.

In an interview on Wontumi Radio Morning Show, he indicated that he doesn’t believe the rumour that, Speaker claims he saw an MP who was sitting at a corner and summed up to the MPs present on the day to 138.

“On the second vote, Speaker witnessed the counting and noticed that the MPs present were 137 and for that matter, it was against the rules for him to put a question on the second voting, he said.

Hon Opare-Ansah indicated that to make a decision in Parliament, you need one-half of the MPs to be present.

He tasked the Majority to challenge the Speaker’s ruling based on the evidence available.
