The Ashanti regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has reacted to comments by former President John Mahama about how he envisions his first day in office come 7th January 2025 will be like.
Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi claims that rather than sitting at the Jubilee House to work, Mr. Mahama would end up at a drinking bar to booze his day off due to the disappointment that is awaiting him.
“Mr. Mahama would be disappointed if he thinks he would be heading to the Jubilee House after January 7th because he will return from the Independence Sqaure to a ‘blue kiosk’ to drink ‘ataya’ and booze rather than entering the Jubilee House”, Chairman Wontumi said.
Former President Mahama believes that he will hit the ground running because he is acquainted with the presidency having worked there before.
“7th January 2017, I showed Akufo-Addo around the Flagstaff House, where he will sit, his vice president, cabinet office, his meeting and conference rooms; I am the one who showed him around.
“So, I was asking a question, on 7th January 2025, who will show John Mahama around the Flagstaff House?” he asked party faithful at the St. Martins Secondary School in Nsawam.
But in Chairman Wontumi’s opinion, he would be “boozing” and drinking ‘ataya’ whilst he watches President Akufo-Addo handover to another NPP government.
