A member of the New Patriotic Party’s communication team in Ashanti Region, Razak Abubakar, has asked Ghanaians to limit and manage their expectation if they Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta to resign soon as Minister of Finance.
Speaking on the Wontumi Morning Show following calls by some NPP Members of Parliament for the Finance Minister to resign, Razak Abubakar stated that it is unlikely the Minister would be sacked from office.
Razak Abubakar believes Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta’s position as the lead person in Ghana’s negotiations with IMF, would make it hard for him to be fired.
The National Executive body of the New Patriotic Party is urging calm between all stakeholders of the party following calls by the Majority Caucus of Parliament for the immediate resignation of Hon. The Majority Caucus in Parliament has also issued a statement acceding to President Akufo-Addo’s demand for Minister of Finance, Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta, and the Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance, Mr. Charles Adu Boahen to conclude negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) before acting on their demand for the two to be removed from office.
