Francis-Xavier Sosu is a troubled soul and is battling the addiction of weed and alcohol, Lawyer Maurice Ampaw has said as he has called for embattled legislator to go through rehab.
His call stems from the uncouth words that were used by the Madina Constituency legislator when he used unprintable words to describe some section of Ghanaians during a protest organized by his political party the National Democratic Congress.
During the #OccupyBoG protest, which was led by the leadership of the Minority Caucus in Parliament, Mr Sosu was heard in a video spewing vulgar words in Ga to venting over what he said was the poor management of the economy and the conduct of the Governor of the Central Bank.
But reacting to the news on Wontumi TV last Sunday, lawyer Ampaw stated that after analysing the video which captured the NDC legislator, he can confidently say that Francis-Xavier Sosu spoke like he was drunk.
“Lawyer Sosu was drunk; you could tell from the boy’s face that he was drunk. You can’t get drunk and sit in Parliament but on the street, he was drunk. If he wasn’t drunk, then he was high on wee. Nobody will tell because the Sosu that I know, if you watch the video critically which I don’t want to glorify- some of the statement that he made I understand because I am a Ga. The ordinary Ga person from Chorkor will not even use it…”, lawyer Ampaw said.
He argued that if the leadership of the minority in parliament had considered inviting the Bank of Ghana Governor to parliament, there would have been decorum and Sosu wouldn’t have been caught being uncivilized.
