As a Professor, Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang is expected to make cogent arguments that provoke thoughts rather than shallow statements, Mr. Ishaq Kyei-Brobbey has said.
Mr. Kyei-Brobbey, a lecturer and also a finance and management expert stated on Wontumi TV that he expects Professor Naana Opoku-Agyemang to speak factually when she is given a platform rather than assume Ghanaians are “small minded people”.
The 2020 running mate to former President John Mahama, has claimed that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) did not scrap the teacher trainee allowance but rather, replaced it with loans.
“Some persons have claimed in different media programmes that the allowance was scrapped and monies due the teacher trainees were withheld from them but I need to emphasize that we never scrapped the allowance rather replaced it as loans”, Professor Naana Opoku-Agyemang said.
But Mr. Kyei-Brobbey responded by noting that both Mr. Mahama and Prof. Opoku-Agyemang “think Ghanaians are small minded people. The issue she brought out shows how shallow her argument is. Are allowance and loans the same thing?… At her level she should know the difference between allowance and loans.”
