You Have No Alternative To E-levy- Francis Adomako Mocks NDC
Mr Francis Adomako, the Ashanti Regional Organiser for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) says it is laughable to see the NDC organise a public forum in Kumasi on Monday to educate the populace about the proposed introduction of electronic levy popularly called e-levy.
Speaking to this reporter Tuesday morning, Mr Adomako wondered why the NDC would at this moment seek to engage the public about something they fought over by the use of fisticuffs in Parliament.
Mr Adomako said the party and its minority in Parliament could have made useful impact if they had adopted this intellectual approach in educating the public about the proposed tax rather than using brute and physical force in the house of laws recently.
“”This attitudeof the NDC party smacks of leadership paralysis and confusion of thoughts because such forums are the ones where suggestions and contrary options are discussed so the populace would know the alternatives they have”, Mr Adomako punctured.
SHALLOW IDEAS.
Mr Adomako said that rather than use their arguments against the introduction of the proposed levy, the NDC resorted to populism to get their message across.
The NDC, the regional organiser said could not outline alternative plans or measures to rake in more revenue to sustain the Ghanaian economy or what they would do differently to create employment for the mass of the youth in the country.
Rather, he said, the NDC gave reasons why the E-levy will burden Ghanaians.
“This action by the Minority group in Parliament, is very surprising and alien to what pertains to developed democracies where better options and alternatives are stated contrary to what a ruling government may be deploying or implementing “, Mr Francis Adomako.
ADMONITION:
Mr Adomako advised the NDC to take Ghanaians serious by proffering solutions to issues and challenges facing the people.
He noted that if e-levy was not good the best the NDC could have done was to bring counter ideas that would start a debate on same.
To just describe the forward looking tax as something bad and refuse to debate it with a different idea is lazy and wicked, the regional organiser stated.
“My brother to think that the NDC came to Kumasi to use the facilities of KNUST, a center of excellence and complete education to throw up useless stuff about why the e-levy is bad is laugh but pathetic
