You Can Imprison Me Like Nkrumah Or Mandela; I Will Still Be NPP National Chairman- Wontumi Tells Mahama

Chairman Wontumi has strongly told President John Mahama that he can’t impede his progression of becoming the next national Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Just like imprisonment could stop Kwame Nkrumah and Nelson Mandela from becoming the President of Ghana and South Africa respectively, Chairman Wontumi says he doesn’t fear the penitentiary.

“Kwame Nkrumah was in prison and yet was voted for; Nelson Mandela was in prison and also voted for. If it is because of my National Chairman bid that you want me stop, it won’t happen. I will become National Chairman of NPP at all cost”, he said.
